Solid Wood Processing
Sawing, planing, moulding and four-side machining for solid wood components.
Solid wood processing machinery covers sawing, planing, moulding and four-side machining of solid wood components: door and window elements, furniture frames, stair parts and profiles.
PROMACH supplies new and used machines for each step, as individual machines or as a complete line.
Solid wood is less predictable than panel material.
Moisture, knots and grain direction change how the wood behaves, so the machine has to match the species and the section you work with. The number of spindles, the feed speed and the tooling decide the finish quality and how much rework is left. PROMACH starts from the component you produce. We review the sections, the required quality, the daily output and the space available, then propose the machine or the line that fits. Installation, commissioning, operator training and after-sales support are part of the project.
Frequently asked questions
How many spindles do I need on a four-side moulder?
Four spindles cover planing on four faces. A fifth or sixth spindle is added when you need profiles, a second pass on the same face, or a better finish at higher feed speeds. The number follows the profile you produce, not the machine class.
How much extraction does a planer need?
Planers produce a large volume of chips, so they need a dedicated connection rather than a shared branch. The exact air volume is given by the manufacturer for each machine and width. We calculate the whole system from all machines that run at the same time.
Separate machines or a connected line?
Separate machines are flexible and cheaper to start with, but they need handling between steps. A connected line pays off when the same component runs in series and the handling between machines becomes the slowest part of the process.
