Sanding, Pressing & Finishing

Sanding, pressing and surface coating equipment configured to the required quality.

Machine type

Sanding, pressing and surface finishing decide how the finished piece looks, and they are the steps where most rework appears. PROMACH supplies wide-belt and brush sanding machines, presses for veneering and lamination, and spraying and surface coating equipment, new and used.

The right configuration depends on the surface you need.

Raw panels, primed surfaces, veneer and lacquered fronts each require different abrasives, pressures and drying times.

A machine that is correct for one of them will leave marks on another. PROMACH reviews the material, the required surface quality and the output before proposing a machine, and checks how the step connects to what happens before and after it in your workshop. Delivery, installation, commissioning and training are included in the project, with spare parts and service support afterwards.

Frequently asked questions

Which grits should I use on primed MDF?

Primed surfaces are sanded in steps: a coarser grit to level the primer, then a finer one before the topcoat. The exact sequence depends on the primer, the film thickness and the finish you want, and it is set during commissioning with your own material.

When do I need a membrane press?

A membrane press is used for shaped fronts and profiled surfaces, where foil or veneer has to follow a contour. For flat panels, a hot or cold flat press is simpler and faster. The choice follows the shape of the parts, not the volume.

How much space does a spraying line need?

More than the machine itself. Besides the spraying unit you need space for loading, for drying, and for the return of the parts. Ventilation and the fire requirements of the hall also influence the layout, so the line is planned together with the building.
